The truth about Bell Mobility
Industry: Telecom
Annoyed By: Bell Mobility
This is from perspective of a Bell Employee. I want to show how things are on our end so people can understand and not assume that we have more authority and abilities than we really do. At the same time that blame goes to the company and quite a bit of agents for their lack of patience and interest in the job , customers are also to be blamed for their lack of knowledge and research of their purchases and devices.
Bell Mobility deceive both its employees and customers as well. The employees are not well trained, pressured into denying a union, under paid for the duties they do, and do not get advancement opportunities unless they know someone at top.
Learn more about this trashtacular (made up the word :) ) and its ways by going to this website http://thetruthaboutbellmobility.blogspot.com/ it includes how things work at this company and even a special contact number to reach its customer service even faster without all the hassle.

You are FINED for Number Porting
Strange the way it is... No matter how you go. Bell charges you disconnection fees for number porting by other carrier. If you ask Bell to cancell, you will definitely not get that number and your number will be gone before its ported. Bell dont take advance notice from the other provided you are trying to switch to.
Very annoying!!! even when you are in no contractual obligations.
I would never ever go with Bell. Enough of my loyalty shown to them over the past 10 years

One free year of service from Bell
Had bad service from Bell. They kept Taking more than the proper fee from my chequing account. When I would call them they would say that we never renewed our contract. I nicely asked them how many times a yr I had to renew the contract. When they finally checked into this they came to find out that nobody was checking our contract at all. They just kept taking the money out as they wished. This was all resolved with a reimbusement of one free yr of service. Being nice and not getting angry sure helped me this time. thx
Bell - don't make promises you can't keep
I received a call from someone at Bell asking me to upgrade my home phone service. After negotiating for about a half an hour I agreed to home phone and internet for a reasonable price...a few weeks later I get my bill and to my surprise it was almost double. I called Bell back and complained and complained and complained. They said they fixed the problem with the bill and things should be ok. Well next months bill comes and same problem. Called them back and "really" complained. After about an hour I got a better deal, they fixed my bill and got a discount as well for that month. My motto is don't make promises you can't keep...unless you can fix them later after complaining!!!
WORST CELL PHONE PROVIDER
Well 3 yrs ago me and my girlfriend decided we wanted to get some new phones, we went over to bell since we were in the mall already. We seen these 2 phones that we had ta have HTC P4000.We setup everything and it was all good from there.... soo i thought ...my phone then started to act up and connect to the internet by itself. I contact bell inform them of the situation and they tell me to bring the phone in for repairs. So i do , i get the phone back now for a few days and i receive a call phone call from client care stating that i have a balance right now of $3249.86 in data usage. I had spent countless hours on the phone with them stating of the situation of what was going on with my phone and that fact that i just sent it in for repairs for it connecting to the network after i would completely override the phone manually from it being able to connect. They stated that it wasnt there problem and that i was responsible for the balance at hand. At that point i specifically asked to speak with the highest authority available to express the complete and utter dislike in the service and response im getting from this company ..finally after another hour on HOLD ...i get a regional manager on the line explained the situation yet again and she explains that i will receive a FULL credit for the amount of the balance on $3249.86 and that they will have a new phone waiting for me at the closest Bell mobility to me. After all thatttt the following week my and my girlfriends phones are disconnected due to non payment for the balance of $3249.86 I contact them again and apparently they have no record of the call i made to discuss this and few months down the road i get a letter from a collection agency stating i am in collections for that amount. i still have not paid one penny 2 BELL ever since! And i will never ever go back with them they are CON-ARTIST'S !!!!!!

Industry: Telecom
Annoyed By: Bell Sympatico.ca
I HAD Bell Sympatico as my home page. No more! I have a huge TIDE comercial in the background of my home page. Guarenteed, I will change my home page and never buy Tide! We have enough advertising thrown at us. I even find advertising on the bottom of my TV screen during a show! Wait for the damn time to advertise so I can mute it or change channels! I'm not going to sell my gold jewelry or any thing else. F off! Thank God for PVR's so we can record programs and fast forward through the damn commercials! But a background commercial for Tide on my home page!!!!! Forget it. I've changed my home page. Enough advertising crap!

Bell Mobility
Industry: Telecom
Annoyed By: Customer Service
I had been a loyal Bell Customer since 2001. That is until I realised I was being extorted. With my wireless plan, I was eligible for a free hardware upgrade so long as I agreed to add three years to my contract. Given my pleasant experience with Bell thus far, I agreed. Then all hell broke loose.
I was given a brand new TV phone. It was suppose to be state of the art featuring an EVDO speed internet experience in addition as the ability to play MP3, Video, and TV. I was offered the unlimited internet package in addition to my original phone plan and I accepted given the "coolness" of this phone. This plan gave me unlimited internet access and unlimited TV.
The novelty wore off about three weeks later when the phone started to bore me. No pre-loaded games, I had to pay for downloading games. The unlimited TV?...just news clips and other useless information. So I ate the $100/month phone bills I was receiving. About 24 months into the contract, I realized I was paying a mint for something I was not using. So I called Bell to try and get some relief. I had to speak to that "Emily" automated operator to direct my call. and go through the ever incessant menu's just to get someone on the phone. I give my request to cancel this internet package and the CSR tries to offer me discounts instead. I can have a discount which will save me $10/month but I have to resign for another 3 years. I can't get the deal otherwise. I decline stating I'm trying to save money and don't want to be locked in. Again she tries to sell me and again I decline.
After many attempts over a couple more months, I finally decided Bell isn't interested in the satisfaction of their customers and I start shopping elsewhere. Lucky for me I can transfer my phone number to another carrier.
I sign a contract with Fido and my phone number is transferred. I'm repeatidly told by the rep at Fido NOT to cancel my Bell account or else the number transfer will become void and I will lose my phone number. The rep says transferring the phone number will automatically close the Bell account.
I have my new phone and I'm happy with my rate plan and features. I get a bill from Bell as I expected for final balance due. I expected to see an early cancellation fee as I broke the contract, but I was not prepared for an additional monthly bill for an additional month. Bell was looking for:
the last month (expected) $100
cancellation fee (expected) $100
additional month (not expected) $100
administrative account closure fee $35
EXTORTION???
I was charged for the month I was using my new phone. I couldn't use my Bell phone because the phone number was stripped from it when I activated with another carrier. What the hell is an account closure fee? Bell was looking for an additional $235 to close the account!! I called them to ream them out and I'm told I must cancel my service 30 days in advance otherwise I'm charged for an additional month. Not only that, the additional internet package was not part of the contract as it was an add on and I still got charged an additional month for it. I informed the rep I would not pay any overages. I paid the balance owing less the additional month and account closure fee.
Bell has since sent the remaining balance to collections. They threatened to sue me if I didn't pay, I threatened to report and possibly seek legal action against them for extortion.
They still wait for payment that will not come.

Bell Canada is the devil
Industry: Telecom
Annoyed By: Bell Canada
So in the past 1.5-2 years bell has...
1) Stoped my unlimited internet without warning and charged me fees online (without sending bills) for 3-4 months without me noticing.
2) Took more money then they had permission to out of my bank account so many times I called my bank to cut them off. Then one year later they somehow managed to get back in to my bank account and take 3 months of internet charges without my permission. To do so they took my bundled services and split them into 2 bills ( I have TWO "ONE BILL" accounts), sending one to a email I've told them on numerous occasions I don't check and have told them to remove from my file. When I notice I call the bank to again cut them off and get my money back I didnt give them permission to take. When I do this they FINALLY send me an actual bill then 3 days later send me a letter saying I owe them NFS fees since I took my $$ back and cut them from my account. Then cut off my internet AFTER I called them explaining the situation.
3) Sent me a computer I didnt want or ask for and again took money from my bank account without my permission for this computer. Took MONTHS of phone calls to get this fixed. I had to carry each peice to the post office to send back to them (I have no car).
4) Took my roomates $600 cell phone bill and put it in my name again without my permission. I had NOTHING to do with his cell phone. After MANY calls to get this straightened out they tell me we can put his cell phone back in his name but the charges have to stay in your name. Then they procede to call my mother in another province telling her I owe them all this money (which actually my roomate owes them) and try to get $$ from her. I NEVER gave them ANY information about my mom.
5) Our internet is contantly running very slow, we pay for very high speed and when we call the problems are always with their lines and they do nothing about it. Just continue to overcharge us for highspeed internet they are not providing. After months of calling about this they finally send a new motem, which works a bit better, but not much.
6) Constantly overcharge me on my bills, which I have to call and spend hours on the phone getting fixed. CHECK YOUR BILLS!! they do this at least once every 3 months.
7) Everytime we have a issue we have to call at lesat 2 times to get it fixed. Each call is at least 1 hour, I've had some last up to 3+ hours.
There are probally more things I'm not remembering but guess how much conpensation bell has given me for all this hassel and HOURS and HOURS I've spent on the phone. NOTHING!! If they paid my min. wage for all the hours I spent on the phon with them I would be able to pay my bills with them and still have $$ left over.
I called to cancel last week and when the person I was talking to asked why I was leaving bell and I gave him only 2 of my many reasons, he just argeed and said those are some pretty good reasons and was the most helpful person I've ever talked to at bell.
So farewell bell, i'm hoping you don't fuck up my last bill too much. But we both know you can't let me go without a few more hours on the phone so I'll be talking to you for the last time soon.

Unlimited Texting Plan...Not!
Industry: Telecom
Annoyed By: Bell Canada
So I have had the unlimited texting package with Bell for well over a year now. About 7-8 months ago I called Bell to see if Facebook Mobile sending and receiving would cost anything extra they told me because I had unlimited texting I would not be charged, great I thought now I can keep in touch with my friends easier with ones that do not have cell phones. So fast forward to two months ago, I called Bell to extend my contract with them for another 3 years and my plan stayed the same. Except they were now emailing me my bill instead of me having to pay extra for a paper bill. So not receiving a bill in my inbox, I checked online about a month and a half later. 201 dollar bill!!!!!!! It was usually 45 max. So I inquire and I was charged for every facebook mobile message sent and texts sent while in digital roam (which I never was before this month). The month that I was in I was already charged about 30 extra dollars as well. So I call Bell and demand they take that off my bill. They say the best they can do is take my 20 dollar roaming charges off and that I should have been charged with the Facebook Mobile charges since the beginning and that it finally caught up with me and there is nothing they can do about it. Told them to look at my past bills before that and they would see I sent a lot and didn't get charged for them and they said they did and I was lying. So I am stuck with Bell for a while, but I definitely will not be sending Facebook Mobile texts no longer. It would have been nice for them to have sent a letter or a notification text telling me that I was being charged for them.

Bell Canada
Industry: Telecom
Annoyed By: Ma Bell
OK..So I dump my cable, cell phone etc, and bundle everything with Bell. A bit cheaper, I admit. Then, they HAD me. Every month my bill is a bit higer. I wanted to get rid of " call answer " cuz it is annoying, but was told if I did that, they would " unbundle " me and I would pay full price on everything. Plus, a service fee. Plus a fee to connect anything new. I hate these people. And I used to love them.

How many Bell Canada Customer service reps does it take to get it right?
Industry: Telecom
Company: Bell Canada
I called in Dec to have my credit card billing information updated because my credit card had expired so they needed the new expiration date on file to continue with automatic bill payments.
Two months later I realized that I wasn't seeing my phone bill on my credit card statement. So I called again, wrestled with their horrendous voice mail system until finally I got through to a live person. This customer service rep took my new credit card information and assured me that they would have my account updated and the outstanding balance billed to the card.
Three weeks later I get a phone call from Bell Canada asking me to pay an overdue balance... that was supposed to have been addressed in my phone call to them three weeks ago...which was to resolve their mistake from December!
I give up.

Bell Canada - Terrible Service
Industry: Telecom
Company: Bell Canada
I order a new phone connection last week, a technician came last Friday and said that the main box was on a neighbour house, and they were not there, which is nonsense, he did not do the wiring inside the basement and did not do anything, just left saying that another technician was going to come on Sunday.
Another one came Sunday, named Steven phone number 416-426-2753 not business card or last name, he said that nothing was done, but he made the connection from the main box to the house outside, and he wants to charge 100 dollars for each hole, that he needs to make on the wall to get the line inside, which makes not sense at all, so, my landlord said that he will make the holes, one for the phone and one for the internet, the technician said that he could not wait, that he will come later that same day and pass the wires inside the house and finish the installation, and point a place inside the bathroom ceiling, were he said there was a box, but in order for him to do the installation and save my landlord an extra hole in the wall he should cut the ceiling ans expose the box, so he can work when he come back, we cut the bathroom ceiling were he pointed, and there was not box, I call Monday first thing in the morning and a lady call Shalini from customer service assure me that measures were going to be taken, and she apologize many times telling me that a technician will be that day Monday, between 5:00pm and 9:00pm, to fix the problem, I call again this time to customer service billing section, to complain about all the time the made me waste and the damage on the house, and he said that the installation fees will be cancel.
Monday, I wait for the technician and he did not show up neither he call, after 9:00 pm I call service and repair and they give me all kind of nonsense, telling me that not connection was done that there was a problem, that he could not give any information about when the problem will be solve, and to call customer service again, knowing that it was close, just avoiding any kind of responsibility, a complete unqualified incompetent person like most of Bell Canada personnel, at this point I was completely upset, so I call them again, the repair and service line, and another one answered the phone, after a big argument he call some other people, and put me on hold, telling me later to go outside the house and look for a jack inside the bell box and connect a phone to see if the line was working, which I did, under the rain and cold, thinking later how stupid that was who is going to put a jack outside the house, so anybody can plug a phone outside the house and do long distance call? At that moment I realized what kind of gain this people were playing, so I gave up, what could I do at this point? Around 10:00pm another Lady called to my Landlord house named Jigi, that's what she said, but who know what was her real name was, she claimed that she was from repair and service department, and that the problem will be solve on Tuesday between 5:00pm and 9:00pm and I do not think that it would happens, she just call to covers her department and hold doing another complain this morning, I try to complain in the Bell web site but they just allow you 2000 characters, how convenience.
Companies like Bell should not be allow to monopolized a service, coz, that's what happens later, they do whatever they want, their inside, bureaucracy start hiring, unqualified people, that are related to the ones already inside, paying chip salaries, and not giving there people the proper training, this is really bad, and should not be happening.

Sh*tpatico *rains* on my internet parade
Industry: Telecom md
Company: Bell Canada
For years, every time it rains, you get kicked offline and have to reboot the dsl highspeed 'modem'. This is Bell problem with moisture getting in their phone lines or lightning jolting their system. Who care what it is, I have never heard of highspeed cable going down ALL THE TIME, IN EVERY STORM. We have told the tech people this many times but it still happens. We are not the only victims of this either, I have seen others in forums complain of the same thing. Weather is unpredictable so if you hear of a storm on its way, DON'T START ANY HUGE DOWNLOADS IF YOU HAVE SH*TPATICO!
Bell Sympatico and Microsatan, oops, I mean 'soft
Industry: Telecom mv
Company: Bell Canada
First of all, Bell Sympatico moved to an smtphm based email server system WITHOUT WARNING ANYONE IN ADVANCE. Probably to weed out bogus and fraud accounts in the process (you are forced to phone the help people-who are in India and hard to understand). Anyway, I have not been impressed by Sympatico's partnership with the biggest thieving corporation on the planet (Microsoft) from day one. Now, come to find out, they don't "officially support Mozilla Thunderbird". That means you can recieve email with Thunderbird on the smtphm server (complete with 'secure socket layer' protection, aka SSL) but you can't send with the same protocol, you have to use the old, insecure smtp1 server settings to send (actually, you have to change "TSL if available" to "No" also). This to me, is a blatant disregard for one of the most modern, safe, and functional email clients out there, any version of 'Outlook' is unsafe and lacking junk controls (don't know about now, maybe MS woke up and copied the competition AGAIN). Shame on you Bell, you made a deal with the devil and now you are losing my business. Funny part is, I hate Rogers more, but I hate Microsoft and its partners even more so Rogers wins. How frickin' sad is that?!
