Motor Movers Spain Destroyed My Car And Now Refuse To Fix The Damage

Location: Other, Malaga
Industry: Transportation
Annoyed By: Motor Movers Spain

In July of 2009 I contracted Motor Movers Spain to transport my prized PT Cruiser Cabriolet from Spain to the UK.

When their agent arrived on July 4th I filled in the necessay documentaion giving Motor Movers Spain the sole authority to transport my car to the UK. I was told upon collection that it would delivered to my UK address on the 12th of July. With assurances of a professonal service and guarantees of care I relinquished my Cruiser to Motor Movers Spain and arranged my flight back to the UK to ensure I would be at the delivery address when the car arrived.

The car did not arrive on Monday the 12th of July as Motor Movers assured on collection. I then contacted Motor Movers to find out what was causing the delay, they did'nt even have the courtesy to call and tell me that there would be a delay.

Motor Movers then informed me that the transport lorry was not in a roadworthy condition and would have to be repaired before I could have delivery. This work would cause a delay of approximately 7 days and I would have to hire alternative transport at my own expesne.

Not good and rather annoying. Not the, "high standards of customer service" they claim on their website www.carshippingtospain.com and that they had led me to expect.

Another 7 days passed when I receive the call that my PT Cruiser Cabriolet is about to be delivered. Not from Motor Movers but from an unknown transporter who was asking me if I knew if there was a jet wash near by. Why I asked him my suspicions aroursed. Only to be informed that a little oil or something had leaked from another vehicle onto mine while on the transporter.

"Not onto the canvas roof" I asked.
"I dont know" came the reply. Obviously lying and I knew at that point something was seriously wrong with my car.

The transporter arrived and it was instantly obvious that it was substantially more than, "a little oil or something." With much apology the driver, Billy of BKW Transport, explained that he had been sub-contracted without my permission or knowledge to deliver the car by Motor Movers Spain.

I was absolutely gutted. The car was covered in not only corrosive fluid but also rust, metal debris and what looked like metal filings. All from the 15 year old heap that was parked above it on the transporter. The hood was saturated and the fluid had filed the passenger door, was rotting all the seals and had even melted the window wipers.

Luckily my brother was there when Motor Movers Spain's sub contractor dumped my Cruiser in the local High street and helped me move the car to my house. The boss of Motor Movers, John, would later claim that he had delivered my car, but I am sure you will agree dumped is a much more honest description for a vehicle in this condition.

Billy the driver then jumped into his cab saying that he would forward the insurance details as unfortunately he did'nt have them to hand. Most professional transporters would, I would have thought, had such information to hand. But not so with Motor Movers sub contracted driver.

I later contacted "John" at Motor Movers Spain requesting insurance details to allow me to have the damage assesed and corrected. I was shouted down and told by "John" of Motor Movers Spain that these things happen and that he was unable to give me the insurance details as, you geussed it, he did'nt have them to hand.

Only after I created a blog, http://carshippingtospain.blogspot.com with pictures of the damage did he provide insurance details. However that was nearly six months ago and my car continues to rot as there is a problem with the insurance and I am continually fobbed off.

Motor Movers Spain have refused to return calls and emails and prefer to ignore the damage, stress and inconvienence they have caused.

Look a the photographs of my car and ask yourself would you entrust your runaround, as Motor Movers Spain put it on their website, let alone Bentley, Ferrari or Porsche to a company that considers this an acceptable condition to deliver someones pride and joy. Dented, rubbers and seals corroded, tyres breaking up, saturated in corrosive fluids, covered in rust and metalic debris and scratched paintwork.

I would'nt let Motor Movers transport my boys old pedal cart let alone a prestiege motor.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

UTi Worldwide agent resorts to physical threats to competitor

Location: Other, Worldwide
Industry: Transportation
Annoyed By: Tyler SHeff: Fairpricedshipping (MarketRateQuote)

When has competition and breaking the law gone too far? Based on a UTi Transport Agent Tyler Sheff, it should go as far as bodily threats and physical harm.

Tyler Sheff, who has been reported online for bait and switching, seems to feel directing his anger on these actions at other companies/people. To the point where in desperation he threatens to break legs and hunt people down. Not very professional if you ask me……..

Per Tyler Sheff's remarks online:
"Run and hide bitch"
"time to feel pain"
"knowwhereyoulive"
"coming to find you"
"legs to be broken"
"you are a pussy"
"boy this is gonna hurt"

Is this the model employee that UTi Transport Solutions allows? By their corporate counsel Dennis Heil (General Counsel / VP Legal UTi Transport Solutions Inc. - a UTi Worldwide Company), yes and he has allowed it to continue.

I was told that since their company representative is an independent agent, they have no control over them. If that is the case, then it would seem that UTi has a bigger problem than rogue agents.

Where does the liability fall? Who can be liable? Does it seem UTi Worldwide allows their agents to break the laws, even when they are opening themselves to litigation by allowing and condoning illegal activity from their agents.

Logged IP addresses showing a trail of lies and threats of physical harm have been presented to Dennis Heil of UTi and his answer? Do nothing say it is not UTi's issue. Even though all agents who access UTi via computer need a static IP address, he still denies this illegal activity happened.

There have been several reports about Tyler Sheff and his "shady" practices to getting legal brokers kicked off a website so he can run his dubious practices of bait and switch.
He has also been known to purchase domain names in forms of competitor's business names as well as personal names and create slanderous blogs and pages about those people.
He has also emailed and called companies as a UTi Transport Solutions representative and lied about employees and their actions to try to get them fired from that business. UTi's response, nothing that we have seen.

Who does this really hurt? Tyler Sheff, a UTi Worldwide agent seems to think only his competitors. UTi legal counsel Dennis Heil seems to think it is not a UTi Worldwide company issue.

Tyler Sheff operates under several business names/aliases
Fairpricedshipping.com
Parcelsforward.com
eBay: parcelsforward (has been changed multiple times)
MarketRateQuote
Outboardshipping.com
Tyler Sheff Incorporated (listed under different address)
Captaintylersheff (located on Amazon but not restricted to)

On a report listed: http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/384/RipOff0384668.htm
Tyler Sheff in his own words states "It is unfortunate that a competitor chooses to use slander as a tool to increase his business…. we pity them for feeling the need to resort
to such childish antics". It seems that Tyler Sheff; FairPricedshipping/UTi Worldwide agent cannot take his own sagacious advice.

Per Dennis Heils' statement about this legitimate threat of violence from a UTi Worldwide agent: "high school kids sniping at each other". Does this mean that in his high school days, he faced physical threats and violence that seems commonplace and acceptable? Was breaking someone's legs a typical school day? What a rough neighborhood he grew up in.

Authorities in multiple states have been notified that UTI Worldwide agent Tyler Sheff o Fairpricedshipping.com is the IP address owner, which was not denied my UTi. He should be held accountable for his crimes and I am sure they are working diligently to put together the pieces to make sure this type of dishonest work and more importantly, threats to do bodily harm are documented and that he be held responsible. Hopefully UTi Transport (UTi Worldwide) will take the same action and eliminate their exposure to legal proceedings do to a "rogue" UTi agent and realize that physical violence is not how most companies succeed. I have heard of Guerrilla Marketing but this is far beyond the normal scope of doing business.

So far UTi Worldwide's reaction "Obviously if you can track his IP address you have the means to block him from your site easily enough". Yea, that's what we will do, that will stop Tyler Sheff from following through on bodily harm and I can see that IP block working on my home or office front door or better yet, my 6 year old daughters' school. Thanks for your actions Dennis Heil, I feel so protected now.

I hope Eric W. Kirchner UTi worldwide's new CEO does not make company decisions based on this sage advice from UTi's lackluster crack legal team.

Made in China GARBAGE

Location: Ontario, Burlington
Industry: Retail
Annoyed By: Home Depot

Almost everything I have purchased from Home Depot has been scratched during transport due to shoddy packaging. The Chinese can make things cheaply enough, speaking of that, cheap fasteners that break, terrible instructions/drawings, shoddy finishing, poorly matching parts (fit), but they sure have no clue how to pack things for the long trip across the ocean, then the abusive truck drivers speeding over speed bumps (yes, I have witnessed that). Anyway, Home Depot has a product review feature on their website, low and behold, I have tried to review a 5.5 cubic foot Danby freezer FOUR TIMES NOW, they keep rejecting my review because they just want to sell more of them, mine was scratched out of the box and the compressor makes a subtle but annoying whine. Home Depot...if you don't want the truth about the garbage you are foisting on the Canadian consumer, then take down the review feature on your website. I for one have had enough of the garbage you sell and the little punk IT creep that keeps rejecting my reviews, I am paying off my Home Depot credit card and cutting it up. I might use you for the occasional MINOR piece of hardware (pay by cash) but that is it, no more Martha Stewart garbage, Danby, Haier, the list goes on. PICK UP THE PHONE ONCE IN A WHILE AND TALK TO YOUR CHINESE FACTORIES, not rocket science, or get a purchaser with a brain.

Imperial Parking

Location: Saskatchewan, Regina
Industry: Transport
Annoyed By: The Receptionist
mv
On August 5 I parked my car in my stall of a lot that I had been renting in for 9 years. The price had just been raised, starting August 1. As I was parking, a man came up to me and said that I couldn't park there, that they were upgrading the lot. I asked 'so where should I park' and he said to park in the next lot ($25 less than the lot I park in)
I parked there, and I called Impark and asked about the construction, and why no body had let us know in advance, and they said that they didn't know, they didn't own the lot and the owners had started the construction without letting them know. Impark did not know how long it would take, or why some renters were notified of the construction and some were not. I asked for a reduction in the parking fee, since I was parking in a cheaper lot, and they said to get a reduction I would have to give up my stall, and park in another lot..????? duh. So far, it is the 25 of August and they are still not done, and I just got my invoice in the mail for next month's parking, at the full rate. I must say that where I park, in Regina, there are not other lots that are not owned/operated by Impark. They have all their parkers over a barrell, and they know it and don't give a hoot about how inconvienient or how much a person has to pay to park downtown. Makes me really mad!!! And I am only one of 50 people who are mad and park in that lot, not to mention the people we displace by parking in the next lot... who are ticketed for parking in the next lot to them!!

Blame it on God!?

Location: Ontario, Toronto
Industry: Transport
Annoyed By: American Airline reticketing-counter rep.

My friend, K was supposed to leave Toronto yesterday morning and head to JFK (New York), and then later on catch a flight to Hong Kong. Unfortunately, the weather condition became very bad and her flight got canceled so then she tried to get help at the AA reticketing counter.

To make a long story short, my friend went from one counter to another and then this lady who was already K's sixth attempt was not much hope either. While K begged for her help, she refused because she said there isn't anything she could do, especially when her ticket was rather "complicated" (as she was traveling with a "around-the-world-ticket). Eventually the poor girl started to get tears (she has already been at the airport for 4-5hours at that time), and instead of being sympathetic, the sales rep says (with an attitude of course), "don't cry, it's not the end of the world, we should thank god that we are all alive!!". K was obviously very shocked and upset when she heard that and she told them that it's their responsibility to help her solve the problem and she is relying on them to do so, however her response was, " don't blame me for the weather condition, blame it on god, it's in his hands, and if you don't stop crying I'll CALL THE SECURITY, then you won't be going anywhere!" Can anyone believe this?! K was actually being threaten here!

At the end the only thing they could do was to book her on a flight three days later and there was no guarantee that she was going to get on a flight from JFK to HK. But that was the only thing they were willing to do. On top of that, K saw that these other passengers behind her got rescheduled for a flight earlier than hers! When K calmed down she spoke with that rep again and told her that her attitude was very inappropriate and she should not have treated a customer or a person like that in general, and the rep's reaction was, "Yeah, this IS my attitude, either you like or not".. what kind of customer service is that?! The story is still way longer, but I believe all of you are able to feel the frustration. We depend on the airlines to help us when unexpected incidents occur, but instead K was being penalized when they are not handling their customers accordingly!

If you don't like your job, then just sit at home and rot, why have this grudge against people who are actually victims?
