Bye bye Shoppers Drug Mart

Location: Saskatchewan, Regina
Industry: Retail
Annoyed By: Shoppers Drug Mart

How many people knowing that shoppers return policy really sucks?

They wouldn't exchange or return the electronic product. And the custom service is really bad. I bought an Acer Aspire Netbook, since its hard driver makes noise. I wanna exchange or return it. The store manager said she bought a same type netbook for her son, it works just fine. I let her test it by herself. She turn on the netbook, it is slow, it makes noise. said "what do you expect a netbook to do? And you have food on your computer, it doesn't seems like it just have been use several times, you can not return it if it isn't resalable". First of all, you don't suppose to sale it again, if it has some problem. second, I am so sure about that it wouldn't have food on my netbook, I only use it when I was in bed, and I bought a sleeve for this netbook, I always took good care of my staff not just that netbook. So I asked her to ask some neutral person's opinion whether it is in good shape or not.

She said it doesn't matter what other people think, she thought it isn't resalable. She told me she bought a DS for her son at Walmart, she just walked out the store and her son did't like the color, she tried to change it, Walmart didn't let her to do that since she walked out the store. Come on, do you believe so? Actually, I called walmart, ask them this circumstance, they said "it's never happened before. Custom service is everything, they always put customs' right first".

Then my friend who stood beside me tried to explain more clearly to her, she said "I am dealing with your friend, it doesn't matter what you think, I have been in this company for 20 years, I am the manager here. You could call 1-800-Shoppers tomorrow, and it wouldn't change anything". Then she just left us and walked away. I was speechless.

It said on their website: "We have always remained true to our belief that the personal satisfaction of each and every customer is at the root of our success - and it can only be ensured by the commitment of people who realize that success is built one customer at a time". I called 1-800-SHOPPERS today, they said they cannot do anything, because each shoppers belong to individual owner. Do you believe that? If the head office is powerless like that, how could they guarantee the quality of the product we get from different store?

To be honest, I knew I can do nothing about the manager, like she said she had been in the company for more than 20 years. But I just wanna share the experience here. I'd like to go a store who respect human being from now on. And since the price in Shoppers is much more expensive than the other places.

Thank for your reading.

Rude & Agressive Employee - Shoppers on Alta Vista, Ottawa

Location: Ontario, Ottawa
Industry: Retail
Annoyed By: Shoppers Drugmart

I went to the Shoppers (store # 639) on Alta Vista in Ottawa yesterday to pick something up. I went to the cash, paid with cash and when I got my change, I noticed she had given me a foreign one dollar coin. I turned around and went back to the cash. The cashier, Samantha, had just left the cash "cubicle". I asked her to switch the foreign coin for Canadian loonie as some business will not accept the foreign coin. She says, in an angry, annoyed tone, "oh my god", enters the cubicle and SLAMS the door behind her. She then turns and says "well, you're going to have to wait for another customer to come so I can open the till" in a very rude tone again. I said "no problem". I didn't mind waiting. When she was finally able to open the till, she snatched the foreign coin from me, throws it in the till, then slams a loonie down on the counter in such an agressive fashion I was shocked! Her manners were atrocious! I haven't seen "customer service" like that in quite some time. I have filed a formal complaint with Shoppers. I don't understand what the big problem was, it wasn't like I was asking her to stop time - all she had to do was switch the coin!

I am sure I am not the first person to complain about this trashy cashier.

Misleading Sale Price

Location: Alberta, Edmonton
Industry: Retail

I was happy to find Marcelle products on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart.
a Sale Price sign directly below the SHEER TINT MOISTURISER said 'SHEER TINT $7.99'.
I decided to purchase two of this item. It wasn't until I got home that I noticed I had been charged $13.99 each. Thinking that it was a computer error I went back to the store to have the store refund my money and re-do the transaction at the sale price.

The clerk was "new" and didn't know how to do that so she called the manager. The manager informed me there was no mistake and that the item I had purchased was NOT on sale. I then replied,"then I would like to purchase the product that IS on sale"

After waiting several minutes while the "new" clerk tried to track down the sale product, I was finally told they didn't have any.The manager couldn't even tell me what it was but that it was probably discontinued. I argued that their sale price sign was misleading and unfair to the customers but all she could say was that I could return the original purchase for a refund - which I did.

My happiness at finding one of my favorite products on sale had turned into a frustrating waste of time. I took my refund and left the store...still shaking my head.

DIFFERENT PRICES @ different SHOPPERS DRUG MART LOCATIONS!

Location: Ontario, Toronto
Industry: Retail mv
md

I was at shoppers drug mart at Kennedy & Shepard and bought Life brand tissues for .49 cents. (keep in mind that shoppers tissue got more stingy since now it's only 96 tissues as opposed to before when it was 100 tissues oh and it's also smaller in size now as well). anywho... the next day I went to the shopper drug mart at yonge and bloor... bought the same tissues for .59 cents. I told the cashier that it was .49 cents because that's what it said on the flyer....apparently the flyers were different... in scarborough it is .49 cents but downtown toronto it is .59 cents ....so what's going on shoppers DRUG mart? have you been drugged? why are you charging people different amounts depending on the region they live in?
